Terms and conditions

Please read carefully our following Terms and Conditions. It is implicit that you have read, understood and agreed to our following Terms and Conditions when register for the clinics at the Cogne Ice Opening. 

In the following text, â€žyou“ is to be interpreted as the client who has made the registration  


1. Registration Procedure

 1.1.  If you are interested in joining us on the Cogne Ice Opening,  you fill out the registration form with the following details: name, email, address, phone number, the clinics you wish to participate. 

 1.2. We will answer your request by email and give you a confirmation of your registration. 

2. Cancellation

2.1. Should you need to cancel a confirmed registration, you must notify us by email. Cancellations after the 1st December 2023 will be accepted but all the booked clinics have to be paid by 100%.

2.2. Should you wish to not participate in your chosen clinic, for whatever reason, at any stage of the festival, you are not entitled to any refund.

 2.3. All our guides reserve the right to change the location and duration of the clinic booked should we believe that starting/continuing with the booked clinic would place you, any participant and/or guides at undue risk due to unfavorable weather/environmental conditions and/or client ability. This applies to all our clinics. 

 2.4. If weather does not permit clinics/activities outdoors ,Cogne Ice Opening will reserve the right, to cancel the clinics/ activities and replace them with indoor seminars.

3.Clinics

 3.1. Our certified UIAGM guides will always do their best to help you fulfill your objectives while keeping any dangers to an absolute minimum.

 3.2. All guides reserve the right to change location and duration of clinic booked should he/she believe that starting/continuing with the booked clinic would place you, any clinic member and/or guides at undue risk due to unfavorable weather conditions and/or client ability. This applies to all clinics.

 

4. Insurance

 4.1. Cogne Ice Opening / Icespecter Schmitt&Scherer GbR do not provide any insurance coverage for its guests.

 4.2. It is your own responsibility to decide on the level of insurance you wish to have. The following information is intended as a guide only. We accept no responsibility for costs incurred that are not covered by your insurance. 

We highly recommend that you have:

4.3.  Accident insurance covering activities like ice climbing. Not all accidents insurance do, so check with your insurance company that you are insured for these activities. When member of an Alpine Club check with their membership insurance. 

 

5. Acknowledgement of Risk

 5.1. By registering for a clinic with Cogne Ice Opening/ Icespecter Schmitt&Scherer GbR, you thereby acknowledge that ice climbing, dry tooling and mountaineering are hazardous activities with the risk of serious injury or death, and accept all risks associated with activities in mountainous terrain. The organization and staff of the Cogne Ice Opening / Icespecter Schmitt&Scherer GbR 2023 can NOT made liable for any illness, injury, death, loss or material damage that you may suffer in connection with your activity/clinic, nor for any failure by you to take out adequate insurance.

5.2. Except in respect of death or personal injury caused by grand negligence of your guide working for the Cogne Ice Opening, none of the guides working for the Cogne Ice Opening will be made liable for any illness, injury, death, loss or material damage that you may suffer in connection with your activity, nor for any failure by you to take out adequate insurance.

 5.3. The guides will to their best ability try to minimize risk, but can never fully be expected to delete all risk involved in the high-risk activities that ice climbing, dry tooling and mountaineering are. For the guides to be able to do their job in risk minimizing, it is of outermost importance that you at all times follow the guides directions and instructions.
